The effect of osteopathic manipulative treatment on quality of life in patients with cardiac implantable electronic devices
This study demonstrates the potential for QOL improvement in subjects with CIEDs. Specifically, subjects in the OMT group reported an improvement in their ability to perform activities of daily living. Subjects also reported a decrease in overall bodily pain and in pain interfering with their normal work. Additional research is necessary to further understand OMT’s physiologic effects in cardiac arrhythmia patients.
