Ovarian vein syndrome right side
This syndrome can occur on both sides, but it is more seen on the right side.
The associated lumbar pain is sometimes accompanied with renal colics due to chronic compression of the ureter between the external iliac artery and the ovarian vein.
Although less frequent, the compression of the ureter can also occur between the ovarian vein and the psoas muscle. This compression leads to the same type of symptoms.
The real problem is a dilated and congested ovarian vein.
Thrombosis of this vein can even cause pseudo-appendicitis.
