Brain fog
is a symptom not a disease. It’s a type of cognitive dysfunction involving:
- Difficult concentration.
- The inability to focus.
- Memory problems.
- Lack of mental clarity.
- Mental fatigue.
Brain fog can interfere with work or school.
Possible causes:
- Stress.
- Bad or lack of sleep.
- Hormonal changes (such as increased progesterone or estrogen levels as in pregnancy or a drop in estrogen such as during menopause).
- Vit B12 deficiency.
- Food allergies.
- Some medication (chemo brain).
- Medical conditions such as fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue syndrome, diabetes, dehydration, hypothyroidism, anemia, depression, …
Treatment: treat the cause, not the symptom!
