Anterolateral ligament of the knee

Anterolateral ligament:

o This runs from the lateral side of the femur to the anterolateral side of the tibia.
o It shares its origin with the lateral collateral ligament.
o It plays an important protective role in knee rotation.
o It is often damaged together with the anterior cruciate ligament (ACL).
o Note the similar direction with the ACL.
